Pierce Mat Pros was built on the mats—literally—and on a deep respect for the people who train on them.

The owner of Pierce Mat Pros is a combat veteran who understands discipline, preparation, and accountability at the highest level. After military service, his focus shifted to family. When his daughters began training in jiu jitsu, he found himself on the sidelines at first—watching, learning, and gaining a new appreciation for the sport and the community around it. Eventually, he stepped onto the mats himself.

Today, he’s a dedicated blue belt with a competition record of 6 wins and 1 loss, actively coaching classes at his local and leading a foundational program designed to help new white belts learn the ropes with confidence. Teaching beginners reinforced something he already believed: jiu jitsu is about trust; trust in your training partners, your coaches, and the environment you train in.

That’s where Pierce Mat Pros was born.

After visiting and training at gyms across the area, one thing became clear. Gym owners and coaches work hard to disinfect mats daily, but true deep cleaning was often missing.
